Invitations.

I really hate to be bitter when dealing with people, especially with ones who’s providing us with their service. So far, our preparations towards the big day have been smooth. Except for one, the invitations.

We have booked this particular vendor during a wedding exhibition held in PICC in April. I’m attracted to their design, modern and simple. What I like most is that they offer a front-and-back invitation cards. I prefer those to the normal invitations since we opt for separate invitations.

What happen was, we were told to pay a small sum (we paid RM100)  in order to confirm our booking and an invoice will be given to us in about one month time. So after one month, we had received nothing. I called the office in July, telling them our conditions and they asked us to go straight to the office in Bangi, so that they can sort things out.

So we went there in early August. We chose our design, and later only to be told that, we can’t provide our details and map yet because whatever details will be filled in in a form given by them through email alongside with the invoice. The person in charge (a guy) photocopied our order form, told us that he will get the invoice ready in one or two days, have it emailed to us with the form and we can return the form through email after raya.

So came raya, and no email. Came Merdeka, yet there was no email.

I gave them another call on Monday, explaining our condition again. This lady told me that, she can’t really check who’s having us as his client so she will need to wait till Tuesday before she can confirm anything. I was annoyed with her reply. Being the official vendor for a Raja Lawak’s wedding, her excuse was not exceptable. They should have a system for their company. I told her firmly that, if they can’t provide us with their service, I would like to have our deposit back. (I know it’s only RM100, but it’s still money)

I made plans with Azwan, that if there’s no email by Wednesday, we will go to the office on Thursday and collect our deposit.

So today came and still there was no email. I gave them another call, and explained the situation AGAIN. It turned out, no one is having us as their client. What happened to the photocopied form?

I told the lady (I think she is the same lady who picked up the call on Monday) nicely but firmly, I had enough, I am no longer interested and I will drop by the office to collect the deposit tomorrow.

This was her answer, ‘Tapi kak, bos kami tak bagi pulangkan duit, hanya boleh tukar dengan barang yang sama harga.’

I told her that there’s nothing similiar to the deposit that we’ve paid, I just want my money back.

I gave her another option, which is, to allow us to provide them with the details there and then, instead of through emails. She agreed to do so and I told her that we’ll come by tomorrow.

About an hour after the phone call, Azwan received an apologize email from them, alongside with the invoice and form.

Well, that made me a bit relieved. At least we don’t have to through the hassle of looking for a vendor all over again.

I know that there might be some errors here and there when dealing with people. They might have misplaced our order at the first place, but the same mistake should not be repeated twice. I was thinking of adding the badges and guestbook to our order list, but looking back at what have happened, I guess, just the invitations will do for now.
